Filter + Connect + Plant = Breathe

When the Stinging Nettle seed is opened it resembles a mouth; one of the tools we have available to make a difference in our community. Whether motivated by passion, anger or enthusiasm, we are sometimes so moved we sit-up from our chair and act. That act could manifest into holding a sign, volunteering in your community or just having a conversation to connect on common ground. The Stinging Nettle is a native plant, but often an unwanted guest. Oh, the gifts she bears are many if you can get past the stinging barbs.

Stinging Nettle has been used as a medicinal herb to treat respiratory issues such as asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis and allergies. It is thought to be an effective histamine blocker as well as an inflammation reducer, and it has been used to treat allergic rhinitis without the side effects of popular allergy medications.
